The National Funeral Exhibition 2026 took place between 11th-13th June 2026 in Warwickshire. I went on the first day of the event with fellow funeral celebrants Nicky Sutton and Louisa Starr. Organised by the National Association of Funeral Directors, it was a three day event, attended by funeral industry professionals from across the globe.
There were over 190 stands of products and services, and 29 talks given by suppliers to the funeral industry. The aim of the well-attended event is to showcase new and existing products and services, networking, and education.
Celebrant training organisations were there as were coffin suppliers and manufacturers showcasing different styles and materials in coffins, hearses and alternative funeral transports, urns, music and visual tribute providers Obitus and Wesley Media, many funeral directors, grave markers and stonemasons, alternative florists, ashes into jewellery, will writing, funeral planning, funeral directors clothing, crematorium builders and management companies, mortuary product suppliers, online memorial services and many more.
One of the highlights for me personally was to see the Loop Biotech mushroom coffin and urns. These products are grown in 7 days, and they take just 45 days to return to the earth. They are extremely soft to touch and the stand display by the company was beautiful and natural with lots of local moss and greenery collected and displayed.
It was good to see many ‘alternative’ coffins, as well as alternative modes of ‘final journey’ transport. This highlighted more people are requesting personalised coffins over standard traditional wooden ones, and non-traditional black hearses are available.
One day wasn’t long enough to see what was on display. The National Funeral Exhibition takes place every two years and the next event will be held in June 2028. It was a very informative, interesting and positive day for those of us who work in the funeral industry. Until June 2028…
